about me
Travelling in the UK, good local food, walks with the dog, and working to live rather than living to work is my ethos
all about me
I'm Sammy, an author, health coach, and van life enthusiast. Along with my husband, and Dachshund
called Duke. I travel the country as much as possible, balancing my work with exploring areas of the country I haven't visited as well as old places I adore.
We fell back in love with UK stays when our twin girls were quite young. We both ran our own businesses which didn't always allow for proper breaks so we started doing regular weekends away. As costs increased, we limited ourselves to week long stays whenever we could but we missed our weekend escapes.
Once we bought a campervan, our weekend escapes became more regular again. Able to work on the road, we found ourselves exploring the UK once more and my favourite thing to do is find REAL hidden gems--ones not ruined by over tourism.

Though our campervan has become a lifeline offering us the freedom to travel at our own pace and immerse ourselves in the places we visit, we also love luxurious hotel stays, gorgeous holiday cottages, and rustic, simple stays, so no matter what tickles your fancy, I'll have recommendations for every budget and taste.

I hope my experiences inspire you to explore the beauty of the UK . Whether you’re seasoned travellers, looking for a budget stay or new to the campervan lifestyle, I'll always have something for you to discover. Follow my blog for more tips, stories, and recommendations as we continue our journey with Duke by our side. Happy travels!
Keeping it local
HELPING YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH THE UK
I started this blog because I'm passionate about home. It has so much to offer and I wanted to support UK businesses and the amazing holiday industry here as well as explore areas you don't often see featured. Over tourism causes many problems for locals and can make a visit to any area much more difficult to plan. Although there's usually a reason an area is so popular, other amazing places are being overlooked and I want to shine a light on those places too. That doesn't mean I avoid popular areas all together, but I help my readers plan visits to touristy places to ensure they can avoid the crowds and tourist traps and embrace everything the area has to offer.
