Ultimate Campervan Packing List for UK Adventures

Updated: Jun 12

Are you planning a campervan adventure in the UK? Whether you're a seasoned camper or new to the world of campervanning, having a comprehensive packing list is essential for a smooth and enjoyable trip. To help you prepare for your UK camping escapade in a VW Campervan, we've put together the ultimate packing list to ensure you have everything you need for a memorable journey.

Clothing:

  • Pack clothing suitable for the unpredictable UK weather, including layers, waterproof jackets, and comfortable shoes for hiking and exploring.

  • Don't forget swimsuits or wetsuits if you plan to take a dip in the sea or enjoy water activities. Bedding:

  • We like to have a duvet so we can feel cozy but you could also take a sherpa blanket to save on space. We take extra blankets, and comfortable pillows for a good night's sleep in our campervan. Don't forget sheets! Kitchen essentials:

  • Stock up on non-perishable food items, such as canned goods, pasta, and snacks, to enjoy meals on the go. We often pre-prepare some salads and meals we can quickly warm up.

  • Utensils, plates, cups, glasses and easily storable cookware are essential. We love these pans to save space. Don't forget a vegetable peeler and can opener!

  • A kettle. You can even buy collapsible versions to save even more space.

  • A collapsible bin is really handy. You don't want to be leaving rubbish all over your campervan or making trips to the campsite bins all the time. Outdoor gear:

  • Bring camping chairs, a portable table, and a picnic blanket for outdoor dining and relaxation. We love this table that folds away no bigger than a camping chair!

  • Pack a portable firepit for cosy evenings by the campfire and cooking al fresco. This is our choice for literally the smallest firepit you can get.

  • If you're feeling fancy, take an outdoor rug that you can roll up. It also stops you tracking dirt into your campervan.

  • Outdoor lighting. If you're going to be sitting outside your camper a lot, string lights are a fun, lovely way of enjoying the evenings as they get darker.

  • Safety and emergency supplies:

  • Ensure you have a first aid kit stocked with essentials like bandages, antiseptic wipes, and pain relievers.

  • Pack a flashlight, extra batteries, and a whistle for emergencies.

  • Don't forget to bring a map, compass, and fully charged phone for navigation and communication. Entertainment:

  • If you're like us, you won't have a ton of space for entertainment, but we always have a good book and a pack of cards as well as the laptop if we want to snuggle up and watch a movie. Miscellaneous items:

  • Remember to pack sunscreen, insect repellent, and toiletries for personal hygiene and protection.

  • Don't forget to bring a portable charger for keeping your devices powered up on the go.

  • Elastic bands. They're just incredibly helpful, especially if something is flapping about and needs securing.

  • Pop up toilet tent. Great for if the toilets are a trek or you need a little privacy for squeezing out of your wetsuit.

  • A collapsible bucket. Handy for many reasons!

  • If you have dogs, a long leash is a great idea and these magnetic hooks serve all sorts of purposes as well as ensuring your doggy friend can't run away.

  • A travel dog bed is one of our favourite purchases. It acts as a car seat and a dog bed at night.
